Medikal has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo, following his appointment as an ambassador for the Red Means Stop initiative.
The meeting, held in Accra, forms part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between the creative industry and government institutions in addressing substance abuse among young people.
Discussions during the engagement focused on how music, youth culture, and digital platforms can be leveraged to increase awareness about the dangers of drug abuse while promoting responsible lifestyle choices among the youth.

The appointment of Medikal as an ambassador for the campaign was earlier announced by the Minister, who highlighted the rapper’s strong influence among young people and the positive role he can play in advancing the message of the initiative.
According to the Minister, engaging influential public figures like Medikal is a strategic step toward ensuring the “Red Means Stop” campaign resonates with young people across the country.
As an ambassador, the award-winning rapper is expected to support the initiative through youth engagement programmes, public awareness campaigns, and media advocacy aimed at discouraging drug abuse and encouraging healthier choices among Ghana’s youth.
The Red Means Stop campaign is part of a broader national effort led by the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment in partnership with the National Youth Authority to address rising concerns about substance abuse and promote the well-being of young people.
