Over 35 persons belonging to a minority group have gained valuable skills to launch their own businesses, thanks to a partnership between the Developing Women for Skills and Opportunities Initiative (DWOSO) and the Accra Central Municipal Assembly.
Funded by the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF), the initiative provided training in soap making and pastry creation.
The participants learned how to make a variety of soaps, including liquid soap, bleach, and after-wash products.
On the pastry side, they mastered the art of creating 13 different delicious treats, including cakes, doughnuts, meat pies, chips, biscuits, fish pie, and even homemade jam!
This program empowers women from a minority group by equipping them with the skills and knowledge to become entrepreneurs.
By making and selling their own soaps and pastries, these women can generate income and support themselves and their families.
