NDC’s presidential primaries peaceful and democratic – Political Analyst

A political communication strategist, Dr. Godwin Etse Sekanku, has described the just ended National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries as one of the peaceful and democratic elections ever.

The NDC on Saturday went to the polls to elect a flagbearer to contest the 2020 general elections of the ticket of the party.

Former President, John Dramani Mahama secured 213,443 votes representing 95.24% in the NDC 's presidential primary held on Saturday.

This win means John Dramani Mahama, will lead the NDC for the second time come 2020 general elections.

Speaking with  Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive Monday, Dr. Godwin Etse Sekanku stated that the NDC as a party should be commended for successfully organizing the presidential primary in a more peace and democratic process putting aide our political affiliations.

According to Dr. Godwin Etse Sekanku, the outcome of the NDC primary was obvious and it did not come as a surprise.

The other aspirants were the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr Alban Sumani K. Bagbin, businessman Alhaji Nurudeen Iddrisu, former President John Dramani Mahama, former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Mr Sylvester Adinam Mensah (Sly); former Trade Minister, Ekwow Mr Spio-Garbrah; Mr Augustus Goosie Tanoh and former Vice Chancellor of University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof. Joshua Alabi.
