Notorious Armed Robbery and Murder Suspect arrested at Adeiso

The Police on Wednesday, 20th October, 2021, arrested an armed robbery and murder suspect, Godstrong Tettey, at Adeiso in the Eastern Region.

The suspect according to the police has been on the wanted list for alleged murder, car-snatching cases and violent landguard activities.

Godstrong Tettey had become notorious when he was seen in a widely circulated video on social media, brandishing a pistol.

Police intelligence led to his capture at Adeiso and items retrieved include two pump action guns, one locally manufactured pistol and one new foreign-manufactured pistol.

The operation forms part of the Police Administrations’ resolve to weed out criminals from our society.

The police stated that such intelligence-led preventive policing and strategic operations will continue.

“We commend the public for the enhanced partnership in fighting crime and we urge anyone with any information on crime to call the Police emergency numbers 191 and 18555,” it added.

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect, Iwejuo Anthony alias Chibona, who together with others attacked and robbed the Pacific Filling Station at Krokowhe, near Ashalaja in the Greater Accra region, at dawn of 5th June, 2021.

According to the police, the suspects assaulted and tied fuel attendants, broke into the metallic safe of the filling station and stole unspecified amount of money, a laptop and other items.

However, with security interventions laid by the station owner, coupled with his bravery and support of neighbours, the suspect was arrested.

The police reported that some of the items stolen and a heavy pointed metal bar was retrieved from the suspect.

Meanwhile, the Police said that efforts are underway to arrest the other suspects.

“Police continue to appeal to the public to make personal security a priority as was done by the owner of the Krokrohwe Pacific Filling Station, leading to the arrest of the suspect. The Police is for the public as security is a police-public partnership,” the Police said.
