Government after assuming office, has never abandoned any health facility that was started by the previous government, Health Minister Kwaku Agyeman Manu has argued.
Kwaku Agyeman Manu, who said this while speaking at the Ministry of Information’s Press briefing Tuesday afternoon refuted claims that the current Akufo-Addo government has neglected uncompleted health projects by erstwhile governments.
According to the Health Minister, the NPP has constructed and equipped ten clinics in the Central region.
He added that the Tamale Teaching Hospital was already going through a rehabilitation and upgrade even before the NPP took office.
“We have completed the Ga East Hospital, which is being used as a major treatment centre for COVID-19. We have managed to start and complete 15 CHPS compounds located in different parts of the country. “We have got parliamentary and Cabinet approval to work on a 330 bed-maternity block at Korle Bu which is expected to be completed in 2022,” he added.
He added that that government has gotten parliamentary approval to enable selected contractors to work on the Shama Hospital project and La General Hospital projects.
