The Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team, established by President-elect John Dramani Mahama, has resolved to execute its mandate without burdening taxpayers financially.

In a statement posted by the team’s chairman, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the group announced that its members would forgo salaries, allowances, per-diems, and fuel coupons. This bold decision was made during the team’s meeting on Wednesday.

“None of our activities will come at a cost to the taxpayer. We shall not receive salaries, allowances, per-diems, or fuel coupons. We continue to count on your support—let’s do this for God and our Country. Ghana First,” Ablakwa stated.

The ORAL team was formed as part of Mahama’s efforts to combat corruption and recover public funds and resources allegedly looted during previous administrations. The high-profile team includes notable personalities such as retired Commissioner of Police Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, former Auditor-General Daniel Domelevo, lawyer Martin Kpebu, and investigative journalist Raymond Archer.

The committee has been tasked with collecting evidence from the public on alleged corruption and devising strategies to reclaim misappropriated state assets. By refusing remuneration, the team seeks to underscore its commitment to selfless service and inspire public trust in its mission.

As the nation awaits tangible results from this groundbreaking initiative, the ORAL team calls on Ghanaians to actively support their efforts to ensure justice and accountability for the nation’s resources.
