Papaye presents meritorious awards to deserving employees

Leading fast food operator, Papaye Fast Food Limited, has acknowledged and awarded deserving staff in their staff excellence awards ceremony held at Konkonuru, Aburi.

The event, which took place in the hilly chilly atmosphere of Papaye Recreational Village, Konkonuru, Aburi drew personalities from the clergy, traditional authorities, government, assemblies, hospitality industry including customers.

The categories of the awards include employees who have rendered 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of dedicated service and excellence, with accompanying prizes of undisclosed cash, certificates, television sets, double-door refrigerators, chest freezers, citations amongst others.

In their 30 years of operation, Papaye Fast Food has blazed the trail leading to the establishment of seven branches in Greater Accra with a workforce of over 500 currently. This, according to management became achievable due to the selfless contribution of their workers; therefore rewarding them resonates with management’s quest in fulfilment of honouring excellent performance.

The awardees were deemed to have carried themselves excellently above their peers and given regards to the corporate values like discipline, dedication, quality service, team play, commitment and loyalty.

The Executive Chairman of Papaye Fast Food Ltd, Dr. Samir Kalmoni commended the entire workforce and acknowledged that the employees are an integral part of their success story.
“….the success story of Papaye cannot be complete without the invaluable contribution of the employees.”

He urged them to see customer service as an attitude and not a department. It is worth-noting that despite the devastating effect Covid-19 has had on entities resulting in massive layoffs and collapse of businesses, Papaye Fast Food did not lay off workers but kept all on their pay roll.

Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mark Okraku Mantey commended the progress of Papaye as it is by dent of hard work. He emphasized the need to continuously maintain the standards of customer care since it is a major tool for their business and the industry.

He opined that government will collaborate with them within the tourism sector to create more opportunities for the public in all win scenario.

Also, Group CEO of Papaye Fast Foods, Divine Kojo Asiedu noted that the awards are to encourage good behavior, motivate staff and inculcate competitive spirit.
