Parents advised not to “dump” wards in schools

The Circuit Supervisor for Circuit 17 Schools in Accra New Town, Bright Delali Asiku, has advised parents to desist from using schools as “dumping” site in order to get disturbing wards out of the house.
According to Mr. Bright Delali Asiku, some parents leave their wards at the  mercy of  teachers who sometimes have to send the kids home themselves.
“Some parents bring their wards to school in the morning and coming back to get them after school becomes a headache. Some parents do not have time for their kids and it’s worrying. I find it difficult to believe that parents leave money for their wards who hardly get to see the faces of their parents. It saddens my heart,” He added.
Circuit Supervisor, Bright Delali Asiku, made the appeal at the launch of the 25th Anniversary of Fountain School, a private educational institute in Alajo a suburb of Accra.
The launch was held under the theme “Equipping the Young with a Renewed Mind for Accelerated National development: The Essence of Education.”
Also speaking at the launch, Chief Executive Officer for Fountain School, Madam Betty Klutse recounted how Fountain School, an institution which started with a pupil on 5th January 1995, has become a household name in Accra and beyond.
She revealed that the remarkable improvement in the academics of the students in the school caused parents of wards in the School to call for a Junior High School (JHS) to augment the the basic school.
“ The first Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) we took part in was a leap in the growth of the school, the students excelled and we were all over which contributed to the number of students you see here” she added.
Madam Betty Klutse expressed her profound gratitude to the Parents and Guardians of Fountain School for their enormous contribution towards the growth of the school over the past 25 years.
Commenting on the theme for the launch of the 25th Anniversary, the Director for the School, Mr. Jeffery Seduzdi, noted that planning committee of the school settled on the theme  after realizing that it is only a renewal of mind that causes change and subsequently aid development.
