The burial service for the late Professor Atukwei Okai was held Friday at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) in Accra.
Professor Atukwei Okai, a former Secretary-General of the Pan African Writer’s Association (PAWA), passed on in Accra on July 14 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
The renowned poet will be buried at the New Military Cemetery, Burma Camp, and will be followed by the final funeral rites at the forecourt of the State House. The prescribed dress code is all white.
Professor Atukwei Okai died at age 77 and was survived by a wife and five daughters.
