East Legon-based football academy, Pro Gen FC, returned home to a rousing welcome at Kotoka International Airport after an impressive campaign across three of the most prestigious youth tournaments in Europe.

The team, made up of promising young talents, flew Ghana’s flag high with their performances and returned with three trophies and an individual player award.

The boys participated in the Gothia Cup (Sweden), Norwegian Cup (Norway) and the Paris Cup (France), showing skill, tenacity, and discipline beyond their years. Their impressive haul included a 2nd-place finish in the U-14 Gothia Cup, 3rd place in the U-17 Norwegian Cup, and 1st place at the Paris Cup, making it a tour to remember.

Speaking to the media, the club’s founder and head coach, Nana Kweku Agyemang, could not hide his excitement and pride:

“We thank God for bringing the team back safely. Last year, we went to two countries — this time, three. These are some of the biggest youth tournaments in the world, and this is one of our best performances ever. Winning trophies in all the competitions is truly commendable.”

“Our doors are always open for parents to bring their children. We start training children from as young as four years old. We believe we are on the right path as a country. If we focus on developing grassroots football, we will see the next generation of players like Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari, and Stephen Appiah returning to lift the Black Stars.”

Pro Gen FC’s success abroad is another strong signal that Ghana’s future in football is bright — if the right investments are made in youth development. With academies like Pro Gen FC leading the way, Ghana’s hopes of dominating African and world football again may not be far off.
