The Central Regional Police Command of the Ghana Police Service, has arrested two suspects in connection with the transportation of electricity cables believed to belong to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
The suspects, Mohammed Sulemana and Iddrisu Basit, both driver’s mates of an articulated truck, were apprehended on April 1, 2025, at Gomoa Awombrew in the Central Region.

According to the police, the truck (registration number GC 7410-11) was found parked at Gomoa Awombrew, carrying 28 rims of ECG cables.
Officials from ECG, led by Operations Officer Mr. David Ackom, confirmed ownership of the cables but stated that no such consignment was expected in the area.
Meanwhile, the truck remains under police guard as authorities intensify efforts to arrest the driver, Zibo Imoro, who is currently on the run.
Investigations are ongoing.
