Police place GHC10,000 bounty on Radio Ada “bandits”

The Ghana Police Service has issued a  GH₵ 10,000.00 reward for credible information that will lead to the arrest of suspects who vandalised  Radio Ada in the Greater Accra Region .

The Radio station was reportedly attacked on Thursday, January 13 by a group of eight men.

One of the attackers was reportedly armed with a pistol.

According to reports, a presenter who was on-air during the the attack was  beaten.

The  studio equipment of the station was also vandalized which led to the temporary shutdown of the station.

“Two Radio Ada staff together with visitors to the station were held hostage during the attack. The attackers openly declared that they had come to vandalise the station because of its Manor Munyu and other programmes discussing the recent developments in the Songor.  They threatened to inflict further havoc should the station continue with programmes on the Songor”, excerpts of a statement from Radio Ada read.

In a new development, The Ghana Police Service has announced a  GH₵ 10,000.00 reward for anyone with credible Information that will lead to the arrest of the unknown thugs who vandalised  the Radio Station.

“The Police hereby urge the staff of Radio Ada, people of Big Ada and the general public to remain calm as we continue our investigations into the attack at the Radio Ada station on Thursday, January 13, 2022,” The Police said a statement on Sunday 16th January 2022.
