The Ghana Police Service has vowed to investigate and bring to book unknown assailants who shot and killed a policewoman at Bawku in the Upper East Region.
Constable Regina Angenu was shot by some men who were on a motorbike when she was going back to her residence on Sunday.
Sources within the Police Service told Atinkaonline.com that, the deceased Regina Angenu who was stationed at Paga had gone to visit her “police boyfriend” at Bawku and on their motorbike to drop Regina at the lorry station, some unknown gunmen hiding in the bushes fired gunshots at them, killing Regina.

In a statement, the Police confirmed that Regina Angenu met her untimely death while off duty, when she was shot at Bawku by unknown assailants while on her way on a motorbike to Bawku Barracks on Sunday, January 23, 2022.
According to the Police, she was rushed to the Presbyterian Mission Hospital, Bawku, but passed away while responding to treatment.
“We extend our sincerest condolences to the bereaved family, colleagues and friends and also commiserate with them in this trying time. We hereby urge the family to remain calm as investigation is underway to get the perpetrators of this senseless and callous murder arrested to face justice,” it added.

Five suspected armed robbers have been arrested at Buipe in the Savannah Region following a robbery in Tamale.
The five robbery suspects snatched a Toyota Camry salon car from its owner at a residential area in Tamale and bolted.
However, the Police pursued them and succeeded in arresting them at Buipe.
According to the Police, a search on them led to the retrieval of a G3 Riffle and a pistol.
“Details will be provided by the Northern Regional Police Command in due course,” it added.
