President Mahama Nominates New District Chief Executives Across Four Regions

President John Dramani Mahama has nominated a new set of District Chief Executives (DCEs) in line with Section 20 (1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936) and Article 243 (1) of the 1992 Constitution.

The nominees, spanning the Volta, Oti, Ahafo, and Bono Regions, will need to be approved by their respective District Assemblies before assuming office.

Volta Region

Prosper Kumi – Hohoe
Nicholas Kwabla Worlahcie – Ketu South
Stephen Adom – Ho

Oti Region

Parke-Davis Magyigbe – Buem
Eric Kwaku Oppong – Blakoye
Dr. Sam Suraj Issaka – Akan

Bono & Ahafo Regions

Collins Asoma – Berekum West (Bono)
Joseph Akparibo – Asunafo North (Ahafo)

Strengthening Local Governance

The nominations mark a key milestone in decentralized governance, as these appointees are expected to drive development efforts within their respective districts.

The final appointments will be confirmed pending approval from the respective District Assemblies.
