A devastating rainstorm has caused severe destruction at St. Francis College of Education in Hohoe, leaving the principal’s residence, teachers’ bungalows, and key infrastructure heavily damaged.

The storm, which swept through the area over the past three days, also toppled electricity poles, plunging the campus into darkness and disrupting academic activities.

The storm ripped off roofs, damaged ceilings, and destroyed several buildings, including those belonging to the college’s basic school. The school’s main gate was also severely affected, while fallen trees caused additional destruction across the campus.

“We are calling on the government and well-meaning individuals to support us in restoring the damaged facilities, especially the college gate. Ensuring that our students, particularly final-year students, have access to a conducive learning environment is crucial,” – Dr. Kwegyiriba pleaded.
