An aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency secretary for the Ablekuma North Constituency, Frederick Green, has charged the youth of Ghana to take charge of the political leadership of Ghana.
According to him this need has never been more critical than now when the youth are at the bottom of the socio economic ladder as they have for far too long been conveniently ignored by the powers that be whom themselves are amassing the wealth of the country’s resources for self-aggrandizement.
In a press conference, Frederick Green who once contested for the Greater Accra Council of state representative said despite the youth been in the majority of Ghana’s population ,it has a high dependency ration ,something that is embarrassing and shameful for a country as Ghana that is endowed with magnificent resources.
“The youth are at the prime of their lives and the most energetic ,vibrant and innovative demographic group in our population and have to adequately benefit from the country’s resources”.
He further stated that the youth of Ghana are uncaring nation with uncaring leadership ,that would rather enrich itself than to provide the youth with opportunities to be wealthy as well.
“A country with a potential for opportunities would at least provide these to a group that has the future ahead of them, no wonder quite a number of them end up hiding away their anguish in drugs and alcohol-but there is always hope”.
The NPP scribe hopeful who was the youngest contestant in the Council of state elections , is of the view that this time the youth of Ghana do not need to use AK 47 and daggers ,but though democratic and vigorous campaigns ,they can also attain majority rule in Ghana –because those in power and selfishly benefiting from the country’s wealth will never deliver it on a silver platter.
He says the youth have to demand real majority rule in Ghana by participating in the politics of the country.
”Waiting around for someone to do it for you, has never worked and will never work”. He stated.
Speaking on his motivation to contest for the Ablekuma North NPP secretary position, Frederick Green said it has always been his ambition to be in political office to galvanize the youth of the country to take charge of their life .
