Takoradi: ‘I was not pregnant’-Woman confesses

The missing but found woman at Takoradi in the Western Region, Josephine Panyin Mensah, 28, has confessed that she was not pregnant.

Josephine Panyin Mensah, 28, went for a walk at dawn on that fateful day but never returned home. Her husband, Michael Simmons later lodged a formal complaint with the police.

However, she was found on Tuesday September 21, at Axim and was immediately sent to the Axim Government Hospital for treatment.

After she was found, police investigations revealed that Josephine Panyin Mensah was never pregnant as was reported earlier.

The Axim Government Hospital also confirmed that the woman was not pregnant.

In a more recent investigation, the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital has confirmed that the woman was never pregnant.

Aside these, the Western Regional Minister, who gave GH¢3000 to the police to be paid as ransom to the suspected kidnappers of the woman announced after the woman was found that she was never pregnant.

After all these reports challenging her pregnancy status, the woman in question has admitted she was not pregnant.

She has also begged the public to forgive her for lying about her pregnancy.

Reports by the Police in Takoradi in the Western Region have suggested that the missing but found ‘pregnant’ woman planned a ‘self-kidnapping’ in order to make money out of ransoms.
