The Deputy Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Mr Moses Anim, has cautioned that the filth people discharge into the sea will end up on their dining tables.
He observed that people discharged waste, especially polythene bags into the sea without thinking of the consequences.
He was responding to a statement made by an American Tourist who complained about how most of the beaches were filled with trash.

Speaking with Ama Gyenfa Ofosu Darkwa on Atinka TV’s morning show, Ghana Nie, Mr Moses Anim noted how plastic bags thrown into the sea have been swallowed by the fishes and struggled to death.
He explained that the plastic bags also blocked certain plants under the sea from developing the way it should, saying due to the plastics, the production of oxygen reduces, saying it also kills the fishes.
He even attributed the death of the many dolphins on the coast of Axim beach and that of Accra to the lack of oxygen which is also caused by the pollution of the water with these unwanted products.
“Everything we do winds up in the ocean. “When God created the earth, he connected the sea to the rivers, and some rivers to the sea. Therefore, if you do something in your home that you believe you have disposed of, it will go into the sea, and the fish will emerge from the sea, and you will encounter them at your dining table,” he said.
He added, “You will encounter it at your dining table, at which point you will realize that the object you negligently discarded will travel to the ocean and return to your dining hall, and when it arrives and begins attacking your health, you will realize that you have harmed your health.
Meanwhile, he was of the belief that if all will take care of the beaches and how we manage waste, things will get better.
