Turkey Earthquake: Christian Atsu still missing

Christian Atsu, former Black Stars winger and Hatayspor player, has not been found 24 hours after being pulled from the rubble of Turkey’s devastating earthquake, which has claimed over 7,000 lives.

The winger initially went missing 26 hours after the earthquake, till Turkish media confirmed his rescue.

A Turkish reporter, Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, said in a Twitter post that the winger’s health was being monitored.

However, a day after the news of the rescue broke, the winger was nowhere to be found. His agent, Nana Sekyere, said in a Twitter post that all efforts to find his client have failed.

The Club Doctor of Gurbey Kahveci Hatayspor says, at the moment, the Turkish club are concluding that Christian Atsu is not the one who was found on Monday night.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s ambassador to Turkey, Francisca Ashietey-Odunton, speaking to the media said they are yet to establish contact with Christian Atsu.
