Two arrested for Gruesome Murder at Tema Harbour  

The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested two individuals in connection with a gruesome murder that occurred within the Tema Harbour enclave in the Greater Accra Region.

According to a statement released by the Public Affairs Unit of the Regional Police Headquarters, the arrests followed a distress call received on 30th May 2025, reporting the discovery of a lifeless male body in the harbour area.

While police officers were conducting preliminary investigations at the scene, they received additional information that a man had been apprehended by members of the public for allegedly carrying a human head. 

The police responded swiftly and rescued the suspect from the crowd. He was later identified as Ali Mustapha and taken into custody.

Further investigations led to the arrest of a second suspect, Zakaria Mohammed, in connection with the crime.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy. 

Efforts are currently underway to identify the victim.

Both suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue.

The arrest was confirmed by ASP Dede Dzakpasu, Public Affairs Officer for the Tema Regional Police Command.
