A 35-year-old woman, Gifty Adobea, has been arrested by the Awutu Breku District Police for allegedly fabricating sexual assault allegations against two pastors of the Church of Pentecost.
The Awutu Breku District Police Commander, Asp Johnson Hessey, confirmed to Atinka News that some elders of the Church of Pentecost at Fetteh Kakraba Assembly lodged separate complaints against the woman leading to her arrest.
Fabricating sexual assault cases against pastors appears to be Gifty’s stock-in-trade as she’s made similar allegations against five other men of God according to reports.
According to the police, elder Paul Mensah, who was once accused by Gifty of sexual assault in 2016, decided to lodge a formal complaint with the police after learning that the lady in question had made a similar allegation against another pastor of the Pentecost Church.
Elder Paul Mensah told the police that Gifty recently accused the Opeikuma District Pastor of the church of Pentecost, one Pastor Mireku Boateng of sexual assault leading to his subsequent dismissal from the church.
The suspect is still the grips of the police as the investigation continues.
