VGMA: There were no surprises; they all deserve the awards-Patience Nyarko

Ghanaian Gospel Musician, Patience Nyarko says she was not surprised about the people who won awards this year at the just ended VGMA’s.

According to her, for the first time, most of the artiste who won the awards fell on the list of her predictions and therefore commended the organizers of the awards for doing a ‘yeoman’s job’.

She said this during an interview on Atinka FM’s morning show, AM Drive with host Kaakyire Ofori Ayim.

Ghanaian Gospel Musician, Diana Hamilton was named Artiste of the Year at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards(VGMA22).

She was in the category with Kidi, Medikal, Kuame Eugene, Adina and Sarkodie.
Diana Hamilton also won the Best Gospel Artiste. She also won the Best Gospel Song with her ‘Adom’ track.

This was the second time a gospel musician had be adjudged artiste of the year in Ghana.

Speaking with Kaakyire Ofori Ayim, Patience Nyarko congratulated Diana Hamilton for winning such an award and also thanked God on behalf of the gospel music fraternity.

“We thank God for this and I congratulate Diana for winning this award. I am very happy; for the first time in VGMA, most of my predictions came to pass, and I commend them. This year, I did not really see surprises, they have really worked well,” she said.
