Victory Bible Church International (VBCI), one of Ghana’s leading Charismatic churches, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
Founded on June 2, 1985, by Right Reverend Nii Nabi Nii Apiakai Tackie-Yarboi, the church began in Kokomlemle, Accra, with a mission to “Raise the Foundations of Many Generations.”
From a single service, VBCI has grown into a global ministry with over 250 branches across four continents and 175 in Ghana alone. The church now operates 39 provinces under the leadership of 30 consecrated bishops.
Launching the anniversary at Dominion Sanctuary, Bishop Tackie-Yarboi credited the church’s growth to God’s grace and a balanced focus on both spiritual and physical well-being.
“One of the things we do not play with is the organizational dimension. If you see churches struggling, they have underrated the organizational dimension, which deals with putting the soul and body together. If you teach people how to go to heaven and not how to survive here on earth, it will be tough for them,” Bishop Tackie-Yarboi remarked.
The year-long celebration includes international conferences, evangelism, charity events, concerts, and youth programs. The climax will be the “Wonderful Jesus Conference” in October.
VBCI continues to serve as a beacon of hope, rooted in scripture and committed to transforming lives and communities through faith and service.
