Video: How to test your kidneys at home

In order to know one’s status, a Medical Practitioner, who is also the Chief Executive Director (CEO) of Noble Trust Herbal Clinic, Dr George Donkor has educated Ghanaians on how to test their kidneys at home.

He noted that one needs a disposable cup, a rubber band and fridge.

After testing positive for a kidney disease, he urged all to quickly visit the hospital for medical attention.

His education comes amidst the surge in price for dialysis at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. The price was moved from GH¢380 to GH¢765.42.

To most of them, even paying GH¢380 thrice or more a week was not easy for the ordinary Ghanaian, with most crying to the government to do something about the new fee.

Due to the public outcry, the management of the Korle-Bu agreed to review the new proposed increase in the cost of renal dialysis downwards.
