The presence of the visually impaired student wowed all those who were at the auditorium, with all his colleagues cheering him with a standing ovation.

In an interview with Mr. Carruthers, he said the major challenge he faced as a visually impaired student was that most of the materials being used for learning were not in Braille.

Aside that, he said most of the materials were also expensive.

Despite the above, he said he was determined and that helped him complete his course successfully.

Meanwhile, he called on corporate groups, civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations, and individuals to come to the aid of visually impaired students across the country and support them with the learning materials needed according to their challenges.

He also encouraged physically challenged persons who desire to educate themselves to do so, adding that with determination, they can make it as he has.
