Wa killings: Another body retrieved after arrest of key suspect

The Ghana Police have retrieved another body of a male adult at Bamahu, a suburb of Wa.

This development comes after the arrest of a prime suspect yesterday September 19th September 2022.

After the necessary crime scene examination, the body was removed and deposited at the Regional Hospital, Wa awaiting autopsy.

A pathologist from the Police Hospital is leading a team to Wa as part of investigation into the incidents.

The Police on September 19 2022 arrested one person believed to be the prime suspect behind the Wa murders.

Suspect Kankani Adongo was arrested, at Bamahu, a suburb of Wa after an extensive collaboration between the Police and community search parties.

The suspect is in police custody assisting with the investigation.

Residents of Wa in the Upper West Region have been alarmed by incessant disappearances of private security guards in the area.

10 private security men have been killed by unknown assailants in Wa within the last nine months with the latest incident happening last Friday.

This has angered youth in the area, who protested the incessant killings.

100k bounty placed on Wa killers

The Ghana Police Service has set aside a reward of GHC100, 000 for anyone who provides information on the Wa killings.

In an update, the Ghana Police Service says analysis of intelligence gathered suggests that there may be more than one person involved killings.

The police have assured the general public it will work assiduously to ensure that justice is served.
