Former President John Dramani Mahama has stated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will ensure the integrity of the ballot in the 2024 general elections to reflect the people’s will.
During the launch of the NDC’s campaign in Tamale on Saturday, July 27, he urged all party members to remain vigilant on election day, December 7.
“We are prepared to protect the votes,” he affirmed.
Mr. Mahama also committed to honesty with Ghanaians, promising to only make pledges he can fulfill.
“I will be truthful to you, I will never tell you lies,” he stated.
He emphasized the need for change in the upcoming elections, arguing that the current problems require new leadership to solve them, not the same individuals who created the issues.
“We cannot solve problems with the same people who caused the crisis,” he remarked.
Acknowledging the challenges ahead, he noted, “It is not going to be easy. The more I look at the situation, it is even worse than what the government is telling us. It will take hard work and cooperation from the entire country.”
Mr. Mahama concluded by reaffirming his commitment to always being truthful to Ghanaians.
