Zoomlion disinfects 48 Police Stations in Western North Region

Waste management conglomerate, Zoomlion Ghana Limited has begun mass disinfection of over 48 Police stations and facilities in the Western North region today.

The nationwide exercise which is on-going in all the regions is geared towards protecting Police personnels and their families who are assisting frontline workers in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Police Commander DSP Christopher Darkey, has made a passionate appeal to Zoomlion Ghana Limited (ZGL), for a monthly disinfection in the region.

Such a move, he stressed, will help safeguard the service and its environment for use by staff members and the general public against Covid-19.

The exercise, which is starting from today is part of the Ghana Police Service and Zoomlion’s collaborative measures to fight and contain the spread of coronavirus disease.

He said the Police stations by their open-door service policy to the public are vulnerable amid the COVID-19 pandemic hence the importance of this exercise.

“We are all aware that Police stations are mostly accessed by the general public. Therefore this exercise will go a long way to halt the spread of COVID-19 in all the Police stations in the region.

All Police Regional, Divisional, District and Unit  commanders are in readiness to co-operate and support Zoomlion to ensure a successful exercise.“

Isaac Bamfo, Zonal Manager of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Western North Region in his statement mentioned that offices, workshops, cells, barracks and other facilities of the Police service in the region will all be disinfected. “For this particular exercise, we are disinfecting their offices, the barracks, the Police cells, the MTTD facilities and any other facility that is being used by the Ghana Police Service that we suspect on day to day basis where people will have some activities or interactions with.”

At Juaboso District Police headquarters,  Superintendent Samuel Ntosoh commended Zoomlion for collaborating with the Police service to disinfects all facilities across the country.
