Founding member of political think tank Danquah Institute, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, has asked Ghanaians to have faith in the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, who made this plea in Facebook post, mentioned that the current government was forced to and has been able to find GHS8 billion this year alone to secure the life-time savings of 1.2 million Ghanaians who would have lost their deposits if the 7 banks were left to collapse.
He noted that, but for the NPP the number of people who would have been unemployed people due to the crises in the banking sector would have been unbearable.
"Imagine the hardships those additional numbers of unemployment would have brought to families. Imagine how far that 8bn Ghana Cedis could have gone to push Akufo-Addo’s own set of manifesto priorities? This Govt continues to fix the serious damages caused before it; don’t let no one fool you! I believe Akufo-Addo will still be able, in the end, to fulfill his promises to you. Keep the faith. The alternative is still scary.", he stated.

Yes! GHS8bn it did not budget for and had better things to do with. Remember also that all the workers of all the 7 banks would have lost their jobs COMPLETELY if the banks were simply left to collapse. Imagine what that 8bn could have done for you.
