The Kasoa Ofaakor Circuit Court, presided over by Her Ladyship Nana Asantewaa Attakorah, has sentenced 25-year-old Stephen Kweku Darko to 10 years’ imprisonment for defiling a 4-year-old girl at Awutu Adawukwa in the Awutu Senya District of the Central Region.
The suspect was arrested by the Awutu Bawjaiase District Police Command, led by ASP Godwin Nornoo, after the child’s parents filed a complaint.
According to the prosecution, the suspect lived in the same area as the victim at Awutu Adawukwa. Police stated that on May 9, 2026, he called the girl to his room on the pretext of giving her “wee” toffee.
Once inside, he allegedly grabbed and defiled her. The girl later informed her parents, which led to his arrest.
During the trial, the suspect pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment.
