Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson has said the construction of the Accra-Kumasi Expressway will create about 30,000 direct and indirect jobs for Ghanaians.
According to him, the project is part of government’s broader investment in road infrastructure aimed at improving connectivity while creating economic opportunities for citizens.
In a social media post, Mr Ato Forson said the expressway would not only improve transportation between Accra and Kumasi but also contribute to better livelihoods through job creation.
“The Accra-Kumasi Expressway will create 30,000 direct and indirect jobs, providing work for Ghanaians!” he stated.
He added that government’s investment in roads was intended to ensure that improved connectivity translates into tangible economic benefits for the people.
“We are investing in roads because better connections should mean better livelihoods for our people,” the Finance Minister said.
The Accra-Kumasi corridor is one of Ghana’s major transport routes, linking the national capital to the Ashanti Region and serving as a key route for the movement of people and goods.
Government has identified road infrastructure development as a key component of its efforts to stimulate economic activity, improve connectivity and create employment opportunities.
