MTN Ghana, through its foundation has distributed 25 hampers to mothers who gave birth during the Christmas period.
The gesture from Ghana’s leading telecommunications network provider is a continuation of an annual tradition that started in 2011.
On 26 December each year,MTN Ghana Foundation visits hospitals across the country to dashout hampers to mothers that gave birth between 25th, and 26th.
This year 500 baby hampers containing baby essentials were distributed in all the 16 regions of Ghana.
In the Eastern region, 22 hampers distributed to Christmas born babies and their mothers at the Eastern regional hospital, where as 3 were distributed at the Seventh day Adventist hospital.
A staff Midwife at the Eastern regional hospital,Mary Ahorlu expressed gratitude to MTN Ghana for the gesture.
“We are grateful for what you have done for these mothers . We really appreciate MTN Ghana for what they have done and we pray that the good Lord will make you great to enjoy more successes in the coming years”.
The area Sales manager, in charge of Eastern,Volta and Oti, Ransford Gyan said, “Christmas is a season of showing love, sharing with one another, and we chose to do it this way by donating hampers that are made up of baby essentials and some airtime to mothers, who delivered on Christmas day.”
“We see the occasion as He added that, MTN believes that it’s important to reach out to mothers and lovely babies born on Christmas Day to show them the MTN kind of love,”Mr.Ransford Gyan added.
