Dec. 7: Bawumia urges voters to reject Mahama

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, has called on Ghanaians to reject the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, John Dramani Mahama, in the 2024 elections, accusing him of lacking innovative ideas for the country’s development.

Speaking to supporters after a visit to the La Traditional Council in Accra today September 12, 2024, Dr. Bawumia argued that voting for the NPP would lead to economic prosperity, contrasting it with what he described as Mahama’s uninspired leadership.

He particularly criticized Mahama’s proposed 24-hour economy plan, which includes nightclubs, questioning its relevance to Ghana’s economic progress.

Dr. Bawumia emphasized that the NPP’s vision for the future focuses on job creation, digital innovation, and prosperity for the youth, in contrast to what he sees as Mahama’s outdated approach.

“This election is about whether we are going into the future or going into the past. We want to go into the future. The future is about jobs, it is about digital, it is about making sure we have prosperity in Ghana.”

“Former President has no ideas, he wants us to do ‘nkok) nkete’ and 24-hour disco. We want to move in a new direction. We want to make sure we can create jobs for our youth,” Bawumia remarked.
