To guarantee a calm voting process, political parties in the country have signed a peace agreement ahead of the December 7 elections.
The parties and their candidates pledged to uphold peace before, during, and following the votes.
Madam Jean Mensa, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, has assured that the results the commission will declare will reflect the will of the citizens.
According to her, the commission has since the beginning of the 2024 electoral processes conducted itself in a manner that will ensure free, fair, and transparent elections.

She added that it is a well-known fact that elections are won at the polling station, adding that the Commission will only be responsible for declaring results that would be brought to them.
She, however, entreated all leaders of the various political parties to accept the outcomes of the elections.
On his part, the inspector general of the police and head of the electioneering security task force, Dr. George Akufo Dampare, emphasized that the task force is ready to ensure there is peace and stability before, during, and after the elections.
He called on the leaders of the political parties to engage their members in ensuring there weren’t any disturbances on Election Day.
