Women in Politics, a Pro-NDC group, has held an event to celebrate what it described as a strong first year of President John Dramani Mahama’s second term.

The event, held at Dansoman, with women leaders and supporters, highlighted policies the group says have brought relief and renewed optimism to many Ghanaians.

According to the organizers, the Mahama administration has taken key steps to ease economic pressure, including the removal of the E-Levy, betting tax and emission levy.

They also cited the introduction of free tertiary education for first-year students, payment of nursing and teacher trainee allowances, free sanitary pads and textbooks, and an increase in school feeding alongside job creation efforts.

Other initiatives mentioned were the launch of MahamaCare and the 24-Hour Economy policy, the start of the Blekusu Sea Defence Project, the resumption of road and cocoa sector projects, and the halting of state funding for the National Cathedral.

The group further pointed to the payment of salary arrears and cocoa farmer dues, the launch of GoldBod to regulate the gold sector, and the introduction of a GH₵1,000 student loan scheme.

President of Women in Politics, Gifty Boateng, said the event was meant to recognize progress made so far and encourage continued support for policies they believe are helping to “reset Ghana gradually.”

She also urged all Ghanaians especially supporter of the NDC to support the government’s reset agenda.
