A fire outbreak at the girls’ dormitory of Mim Senior High School in the Ahafo Region has destroyed two out of eight rooms, with the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) successfully preventing further damage.
The incident occurred on Monday, July 13, 2026, and was swiftly responded to by personnel from the Goaso Municipal Fire Station, who managed to contain and extinguish the blaze.
According to the GNFS, firefighters were able to salvage six rooms in the dormitory while stopping the fire from spreading to other parts of the facility.

No injuries or fatalities were recorded in the incident.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established, as investigations are currently underway to determine what triggered the outbreak.
The Ahafo Regional Fire Commander, ACFO II Samuel Ferdie Tetteh, later visited the school to assess the extent of damage and the response efforts by the fire personnel.
The GNFS has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property while investigations into the incident continue.
