The Executive Director of the Educate Africa Institute, William Boadi, has identified sabotage among teachers as one of the challenges confronting efforts to improve teaching and learning in Ghana.
According to him, some teachers who introduce initiatives aimed at improving teaching and benefiting students sometimes face resistance from their colleagues instead of receiving support.
He explained that when a teacher takes steps to enhance teaching and learning, other teachers may become envious of the initiative and attempt to undermine it.
William Boadi made the remarks during the Teachers Forum on Atinka TV, held under the theme “Enhancing Quality Education: Identifying the Challenges of Teachers and Appreciating Them.”
He said such attitudes can discourage teachers from coming up with innovative ideas and ultimately affect efforts to improve the quality of education.
The Executive Director therefore called for greater collaboration among teachers, stressing the need for educators to support and learn from one another rather than compete in ways that could undermine the profession.
