The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested three suspects for allegedly operating as local representatives and facilitators for Dutch fugitive Jos Leijdekkers, popularly known as “Bolle Jos,” in Ghana.
The arrests were announced in a press release issued on Sunday, September 14, 2026, signed by the Acting Director of Public Affairs and International Relations, PNCO Francis Opoku Amoah.
According to the Commission, the arrests follow the reported seizure by French Customs of a cocaine shipment allegedly linked to a wider international trafficking network connected to the fugitive.
NACOC said the three suspects are currently in its custody and are assisting investigators to examine their alleged roles in the trafficking operation.
The Commission stated that the arrests reaffirm its resolve that Ghana will not serve as a safe haven, transit point, or operational base for international drug-trafficking organisations.
“The Commission will continue working with domestic and international law-enforcement partners to disrupt the people, finances and infrastructure sustaining the illicit drug trade, while safeguarding the rights and legal protections of all persons under investigation,” the statement said.
Jos Leijdekkers, alias Bolle Jos, is a Dutch national wanted in Europe on drug-trafficking related offences and has been linked to large-scale cocaine smuggling operations.
NACOC says investigations are ongoing.
