A 40-year-old Senior Nursing Officer, Salomey Awiti Bafoh , has been remanded for two weeks by the Adenta Circuit Court 1 following investigations into her alleged links to the anonymous TikTok account, ‘Ghana Jollof’, which has been critical of government officials.
According to a brief facts document in the PW/INSPR Naomi Aklasu I/C Case, the first accused, Salomey Awiti Bafoh, resides in Techiman, while the second accused, Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, is domiciled in the United Kingdom.
The document alleges that over a period of time, the second accused used her social media platform to produce and publish videos containing statements considered offensive and inciting.
It further alleges that, in one of the videos under investigation, the second accused threatened to overthrow the Government of Ghana and made statements about burning Ghana, among other claims.
Investigations subsequently identified Salomey Awiti Bafoh as a collaborator of the second accused.
According to investigators, the first accused allegedly assisted in disseminating the videos by recruiting other individuals to redistribute and circulate the material across various social-media platforms.

The brief facts further state that investigations uncovered a financial arrangement between the two accused persons. Under the alleged arrangement, Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, while in the United Kingdom, allegedly remitted money to Salomey Awiti Bafoh in Ghana in support of the activities.
Investigators allege that the first accused subsequently distributed portions of the funds to other individuals involved in redistributing and recirculating videos produced by the second accused.
The document indicates that investigations are ongoing, with investigators continuing efforts to identify and locate other persons allegedly involved in the redistribution of the videos.
The development has generated public attention after a purported charge sheet began circulating on social media, with reports indicating that the allegations against the nurse go beyond operating or being connected to the account and include an alleged plot to overthrow the government.
The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has confirmed her arrest and said it had engaged the police and her legal representatives to establish the circumstances surrounding the case.
The Association was reportedly assured that Baffoe was safe and being treated in accordance with professional police standards.
