Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Sayibu Pabi Gariba, says the security service is approaching this partial lockdown as a humanitarian issue and not war.
This statement comes after government announced a two week lockdown in Accra, Kumasi, Tema and Kasoa as part of efforts to contain and reduce the spread of coronavirus.
After the announcement, videos of security persons specifically the Ghana Armed forces issuing warning to recalcitrant citizens ahead of the lockdown.
Colonel Eric Aggrey-Quarshie, Director Public Relations of the Ghana Armed Forces has asked the general public to disregard the video.
Meanwhile, Minister for Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah says Security personnel instructed to use Democratic methods to enforce lockdown.
Ghana’s coronavirus cases have climbed to 152 with Tamale recording 10 new cases.
Kumasi has also recorded one more case.
