The MP for Bekwai and 1st Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu has donated some items (PPE’s) to all the Senior High Schools in the Bekwai Constituency through the Bekwai Municipal Education Directorate.
The items donated are 7,000 reusable nose masks, 13 boxes of hand sanitizers and 7 gallons of hand sanitizers.
This is to support the President’s directive that all students who are to report back to their schools should be given nose masks and sanitizers.
These items donated are to be shared among the Form three and Gold Track students who have reported back to school and their Teachers.
Fred Nkansah (Constituency Organiser of NPP) who presented the items on behalf of Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu to the Municipal Director of Education said this is to help against the spread of COVID-19 among the students and teachers as they continue their academic duties on their various campuses.
Mad. Lucy Ama Ankrah, the Municipal Director of Education received the items and thanked the Honorable MP for this timely donation.
She said this will solve the problem of insufficient PPE’s for the students, teachers, and non-teaching staff.
She appealed to benevolent organisations and individuals to support the schools both Basic and Secondary with PPE’s and other items that can help the fight against COVID-19.
She also praised the MP for his continuous support to her Directorate and asked for more support.
The beneficiary Senior High Schools are both the 6 public and 5 private schools within the Constituency namely; SDA Senior High, Wesley Senior High, Denyaseman Senior High, Oppon Memorial, St. Joseph Secondary and Technical, Ofoase Kokoben Senior High, College of Accountancy, St. John, Abot College, Amoaful Technical and Vocational Institute and Community Development Vocational Institute.
