Armed Robbers Attack Gold Buyers in Adumasa

Panic has gripped the residents of Adumasa in the Juaben Municipality of the Ashanti Region following a brazen armed robbery attack on local gold buyers.

The attack, which occurred on Monday, left six individuals with gunshot wounds as robbers stormed the community on a motorbike, firing indiscriminately and causing widespread fear.

According to Mr. Agyapong Andrews, Assembly Member for the area, the assailants made away with an undisclosed quantity of gold, a gold testing machine, and an unspecified amount of money. Speaking in a phone interview, he described how residents were forced to flee as gunfire erupted in the usually quiet community.

In a dramatic turn of events, a courageous taxi driver reportedly intervened during the robbers’ escape attempt, ramming his vehicle into the fleeing suspects. The incident led to the arrest of two out of the three suspected robbers, who have since been handed over to the Juaben Police Command.

Police have confirmed the arrest and say investigations are ongoing to apprehend the third suspect, who is still at large.

Residents are calling for increased police presence and improved security measures to deter future attacks.
