Ablekuma Agape District of the Church of Pentecost donates items worth over GHC12,000 to Nsawam female prisons

The Ablekuma Agape District of the Church of Pentecost, in partnership with Ablekuma Prayer Centre (all under The Church of Pentecost, Anyaa Ablekuma Area) have donated assorted items worth about GHC12,000 to the Nsawam Female Prisoners.

The gesture done on Monday, April 18, 2022 is in line with the scriptures, where Jesus admonishes His followers to show love to all people, especially the vulnerable such as the sick, poor, destitute, Prisoners, and the likes. The assorted items which involves drugs of different kinds meant to cure different ailments, bags of 5 kilos rice, a bag of sugar, assorted soap, toiletries, slippers, and many others were gathered by the leadership of Ablekuma Prayer Centre, where the Agape District also added up until they achieved what they intended to donate.

Speaking to the Prisons officers during the presentation, the District Pastor of The Church of Pentecost, Ablekuma Agape District, Pastor Frank Awuah Fordjour explained that this is a way of showing love to the female Prisoners.

“It is something the church does every year to show love to humanity, especially the Prisoners and other vulnerable ones. We are not only supporting them in prayers, but also in kind gestures like this”, he said. Pastor Awuah commended the officers and the prisoners for how hygienic they have kept the place. “The place is kept very neat, especially the compound and where they worship. The only challenge we saw was their kitchen; they need a new one. I therefore plead that anyone who is blessed and can assist in putting the kitchen in good shape should kindly do so as urgently as possible, and the Lord will bless him/her”, he pleaded.

The Prayer camp leader for Ablekuma Prayer Centre, Elder Thomas Ansong, on his side added that the female Prisoners need a lot to make their stay over there a bit comfortable. “Getting the opportunity to visit some of the officers’ offices, we realise they lack furniture, especially tables and chairs. I will therefore add to what our District Pastor said, and plead that we help them with new furniture to ease their work. Again, other items such as clothes, food items, soaps and anything that can help their stay can be given to them”, he appealed.

The Church of Pentecost Prisons Ministry Executive Member , Elder Albert Narh on his part commended the Ablekuma Prayer Centre and the Agape District for their kind gesture. He also urged the individuals and institutions who can afford to show their love to the Prisoners by stretching forth their hands in support of their welfare.

As happy as they are when collecting the items, the officers expressed their sincere gratitude to the church, especially Ablekuma Agape District and the Ablekuma Prayer Centre (under Anyaa Ablekuma Area) for their consistent support for the Nsawam Prisons.

As part of evidence to such supports, the officers showed the team a church building constructed by the church which was solely roofed by the Executive Chairman of Tobinco Group of Companies, Elder Samuel Nana Amo Tobbin at the male Prisons.
They encouraged others to follow suit to help the smooth running of the facility.
