10 types of guys to avoid if you want a happy relationship

0

Let’s take a look at the 10 types of guys to avoid, if you want a happy relationship.

The Clingy Type

Who likes a clingy man? Few, if any of us. The clingy type should be easy to spot straight away, but most girls make the mistake of giving him a few extra chances to relax and become less clingy. Unfortunately, Mr Clingy usually doesn’t take those chances. He continues to berate you via text, wondering where you are and why you haven’t texted back yet. He frowns when you tell him you’re hanging out with the girls tonight and therefore can’t see him. What does this mean? It means he’s got insecurity issues and doesn’t trust you. He’s worried you might have lost interest in him, might be talking to some other guys and so on. And this kind of thing won’t make for a healthy relationship because, guess what? No matter what you tell him, he won’t be reassured. He might be reassured for a few moments but it won’t last.

The Low Key Man

What’s a low key man? It’s a guy who shows you how much he loves you when it’s just the two of you, but who goes pretty quiet, when you’re with other people. In other words, he doesn’t seem too proud to call you his. Skip this one.

Mr Negative

This is another one of common types of guys to avoid. Negative people are harmful because they infect us. If you get into a relationship with an eternal pessimist who sees only the bad in the world and in people, you could try to change him, but it’s a much better idea to cut your losses and find someone who actually smiles.

The Player Type

Perhaps opposite to the clinger is the player. Just like you don’t want to date a clinger who can’t get you out of his mind, you also don’t want to date a player who’s got you and other girls in his mind. The player is the cool, good-looking guy who can be really sweet, funny and charming. There’s nothing inherently wrong with him in the sense that he’s just looking for a good time. Hey, that’s his intention. The problems start to arise, however, when you date him and believe you can change him. You can’t. Usually the rule is that once a player is a player, that’s all there is to it. He’s not going to change for you or anyone else. He might make you feel special and sweet but he makes all his girls feel the same way.

The Excuse Maker

Oh, he wanted to see you but something came up?

No. Just no.

The Flake

One minute he loves you and then the next he disappears for days at a time. Is this really fun? Is this what some girls like? No girl happens to like this sort of behaviour from a guy, but some of us stick around it for too long. If he’s flaky and can’t make up his mind about you, make his mind up for him and walk out.

The Commitment-Phobe

The commitment-phobe is usually a great guy. He treats you well, makes you feel loved and you genuinely feel as though you could have a long-lasting relationship with him. The problem is that you’re not sure he feels the same. He’s cool until you start talking about the future, at which point he backs off or changes the subject. You know there’s no one else in his life at the moment but, for one reason or another, he can’t bring himself to commit to you. There are certain guys that are really stubborn when it comes to commitment. They might even do all the chasing at first and they might seem really into us, but eventually they’ll get scared. And then they’ll back off.

The Angry Man

If you’ve already witnessed his anger, don’t stick around to witness even more. Move on fast.

The Cheat

Surely it goes without saying that we shouldn’t date a love cheat? Well, if it did then we would’t be here saying it! For one reason or another, some girls like to give cheats a second chance. We know they’ve cheated on their lover in the past but they seem SO nice.

So nice, in fact, that they surely wouldn’t cheat on us, too?

At Beauty and Tips, we’re big fans of giving people a second chance, but where cheaters are concerned, well, the old adage that a leopard never changes its spots springs to mind.

The Lazy Man

If your man is lazy, unmotivated and has no ambitions, guess what? That’s probably not going to change anytime soon, especially if he’s already entered his 30’s. Sure, it’s unfair of us to expect men to have it all figured out but we want some kind of plan from them, as well as some passion, desire and motivation. If a guy has zero dreams and goals, he’s only going to bring you down with him with his pessimistic outlook. Avoid.

Amaliba: Judiciary most intolerant state institution (Audio)

Private legal practitioner, Abraham Amaliba, has slammed the judiciary, describing it as the most intolerant state institution in the country.

His harsh assessment follows criticisms against a research finding conducted by law Professor, Raymond Atuguba  on the Judiciary.  He presented the findings last Thursday at the 2018 GIMPA Law Conference.

After conducting research on 100 “political cases", Prof. Atuguba’s findings established that the voting pattern of Supreme Court judges were influenced by the party in power that appointed them.

However, the judges are unamused by the report, describing it as a complete insult to the judiciary.

Speaking to Atinka Midday News Monday, Mr Amaliba said the country’s judiciary finds it hard to accommodate criticisms because it views itself as untouchable.

According to him, unlike the two arms of government – Legislature and Executive, the Judiciary appears to be the most intolerant.

“Anybody who tries to criticize the judiciary in this country is vilified and attacked,” Amaliba argued.

He said the judges should have accepted the report in good faith and later point out the areas they disagree with instead of dismissing the academic work with utmost contempt.

Disregard fake palm oil reports on social media – FDA

0

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has asked the general public to disregard social media reports on the emergence of a supposed palm oil mixed with "Sudan dyes" on the Ghanaian market.

The attention of the FDA was drawn to news about the seizure of two brands of palm oil — POLIFUDS and ZOMI – seized in Switzerland purported to contain Sudan dyes.

In an interview with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive Monday, Communication Manager for FDA, James Lartey, mentioned that the FDA has instituted regulatory measures to ensure the safety of palm oil consumed internally as well as exports.

James Lartey added that, investigations by the FDA revealed that although palm oil is locally referred to as “Zomi”, the implicated brands were not registered with the FDA.

According to him, the alleged “ZOMI” cannot be associated with Ghana only.

“We have checked from the ports as well as our data base and it was revealed that we have neither imported nor exported palm oil mixed with Sudan 4 dye, ”he said.

He said market surveillance carried out so far by the FDA had also not established that the said brands of palm oil are in circulation on the Ghanaian market.

The Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS), has  assured  President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo that  its members will not charge unapproved fees from students.

The President has asked headmasters and headmistress of Senior High Schools not to charge unapproved or illegal fees, or charge fees already exempted under the Free SHS policy.

President Akufo-Addo made this known on Saturday, 17th February, 2018, when he attended the 60th anniversary celebration of Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary, in Koforidua, in the Eastern Region.

In an interview with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, National Secretary for CHASS, Rev. Abraham Osei Donkor, mentioned that the association has received the President’s caution in good faith and will ensure that its members abide by the order.

According to him, only first year students have been placed on the government’s flagship free SHS programme.

He, however added that when students in second and third years fail to pay their school fees and are sacked, their parents tend to attack the school authorities wrongfully due to the notion of “free SHS.

“CHASS will not charge fees which have  been absorbedunder the Free SHS policy,” he added.

Samira: Gov’t focused on making quality education accessible to all children

Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, has stated that government is focused on ensuring that quality education becomes accessible to all children, irrespective of their social or financial circumstances.

According to her, government believes education is the bedrock upon which every nation’s growth and development is anchored adding, “our human resource capital is our greatest asset, and we have a duty to capitalize on that for the ultimate benefit of our society.

The second lady was speaking on behalf of the Vice President, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia at the 68th Speech and Prize Giving-Day Celebration of T. I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School in Kumasi  last Saturday.

“It is this core belief that drives government’s Free SHS policy, which was rolled out in September 2017 at the start of the 2017/18 academic year. Inevitably, the Free SHS policy means an increase in the number of children accessing senior high school education, for the simple reason that children who would otherwise have stayed at home because of the financial barriers to senior high school education, now have a chance to change their destiny,” the second lady stated.

Mrs Bawumia said  about  90,000 more children had taken up their places in Senior High Schools than in previous years adding, “this, primarily is because we have lifted financial barriers with the implementation of the Free Senior High School policy|”

“This means that as a matter of priority, government has to focus on expanding the physical infrastructure in our senior high schools in order to accommodate the anticipated rise of student numbers in the coming years,” she said.

She disclosed that under the Secondary Education Improvement Project (SEIP), government has successfully negotiated an additional $40m from the World Bank to expand the project to include facilities upgrade in 75 senior high schools in the country.

The second lady added that the Akufo-Addo administration is also continuing the physical works on the existing Community Day Schools in the country.
“Government is determined to ensure that the Free Senior High School policy will not compromise quality education in any way and is working hard to ensure that any challenges we face are resolved as soon as possible,” she assured.

She affirmed that  the implementation of the Free SHS policy was  going on very well in T. I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School; as per the monitoring exercise recently undertaken on senior high schools.

Mrs Bawumia advised teachers in the school to be diligent in their dealings with students and encourage them to take up their studies seriously.

“Be effective role models for them, because at their impressionable ages, how you conduct yourselves will have a huge impact on their lives. Guide them to understand that they are the future leaders Ghana needs,” she said.

Aker Energy to buy Ghana unit of Hess in $100 m deal

0

Aker Energy AS, controlled by Norwegian billionaire Kjell Inge Roekke, has agreed to buy Hess Corporation’s (HES.N) Ghana unit in a $100 million deal and plans to launch production from its first oilfield there in 2021, it said on Monday.

Aker Energy aims to build a significant exploration and production business in the country together with the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), it added.

Aker ASA (AKER.OL), Roekke’s main listed investment vehicle, owns 50 percent of Aker Energy, while TRG, his privately held holding company, owns the remaining 50 percent.

The transaction gives Aker Energy a 50 percent stake in the deepwater Tano Cape Three Points block, which holds an estimated 550 million barrels of oil equivalents in contingent resources and potential for a further 400 million barrels, it said.

“The Tano Basin offshore Ghana is a prolific petroleum region where Aker Energy sees considerable potential to apply the Aker Group’s experience from the Norwegian Continental Shelf,” it said.
In 2017, another Aker group company, Aker BP (AKERBP.OL), bought the Norwegian assets of Hess in a $2 billion transaction.

An apprentice electrician resident at Obogu in the Asante-Akyem South District of Ashanti was electrocuted on Saturday while trying to tap power for the funeral of a resident.
According to eye witnesses, the apprentice electrician was connecting power from the national grid to enable a live band play at the funeral of a late resident Auntie Ataa, since the current in the town was too low.

No sooner had he climbed the light pole than he was seen dangling lifeless, with his legs held up by straps he used to climb up.
