Akufo-Addo mourns Nana Ampadu

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has sent his condolences to family of fallen Ghanaian Highlife Artiste, Nana Ampadu.

On Tuesday,  September 28th, 2021, it was reported that Nana Ampadu died after he took ill for sometime.

Nana Kwame Ampadu was one of Ghana’s foremost musician credited with numerous popular highlife tracks and he is known to have composed over 800 songs.

Ampadu’s “African Brothers Band” was formed in 1963. But he came to prominence in 1967 when he released his song Ebi Te Yie.

He has since gone on to release hits upon hits.

In a Facebook Post, the President wrote, “I have learnt, with great sadness, of the death of one of Ghana’s musical icons, the legendary high-life artiste, Nana Ampadu. The outpouring of grief by many Ghanaians, following the news of his death, is an appreciation of the impact his music had on successive generations of Ghanaians.”

Akufo-Addo continued that, “Nana Ampadu believed in my vision for the transformation of Ghana, and assisted me tremendously on the campaign trail in the run-up to my victory in the elections of 2016, for which I remain eternally grateful.”

Akufo-Addo said that Nana Ampadu’s life was well-lived, adding that he will be sorely missed. 

“My deep condolences to his widow, children and family. Rest in perfect peace, Nana, and may the Almighty keep you in His Bosom until the Last Day of the Resurrection when we shall all meet again. Amen.”

He added that, “Nana Ampadu, da yie, Nyame nfa wo kra nsie.”

Three plus size women qualified at Atinka TV’s audition of its flagship reality show, GTBank Di Asa Season Five which was held at Tarkwa in the Western Region on Tuesday.

The three, Emelia Fosua, Patricia Cudjoe and Francisca Cudjoe surpassed their contenders with their dance moves, weight and audience appeal.

They will represent the Western Region in the main Di Asa season competition in Accra after all auditions are done.

The three were all given souvenirs from all the sponsors of the show.

The GTBank Di Asa Season Five will award the ultimate winner with a brand new salon car.

The first runner up will be given a mini truck (Abossey Okai Macho), while the second runner up takes home a tricycle (Aboboyaa).

Aside these, the queens will also enjoy goodies from the sponsors of the show.

Meanwhile, the next audition will be held at Takoradi on Friday, October 1, 2021.
