According to reports, the pool was formerly used by a collapsed Sawmill company and was a few meters away from their residence.

The senior sister, Esther Dede tried getting the ball out of the water but unfortunately fell into it.

When her junior brother, Kofi Asare, who saw her drowning tried to rescue her, he could not save her because she was heavier than him and also fell in the pool and drowned.

The sad part of the issue was that Kofi Asari drowned the same day he celebrated his 6th birthday.

According to some residents in the neighborhood, the Mother of the deceased did not take the matter seriously because she was preparing supper after a four -year old boy, “Osofo” went to her to report the incident.

They said she ignored the news until later in the evening when she realized the children were not coming home and she informed her neighbours to look for the children but found both dead in the pool and reported the case to the police.

The lifeless bodies of the two have been deposited at the Akyem Oda Government Hospital Morgue for autopsy.
