The Anomabo Traditional Council has reaffirms Nana Okai IV as the chief of Awiano and also the Aboehen of the Traditional Council.
The Council led by the Omanhene of the Traditional Area who is also the President of the Council, Kantamanto Anonoo XII on it sitting on Friday 29 the May 2026, urged the citizens both home and abroad that the council don’t know any chief of Awiano apart from Nana Okai IV who is also the Aboehen of Traditional Council.
Speaking at the Traditional Council meeting, Kantamanto Amonoo XII gave the background to the enstoolment of Mr Francis Ebo Mensah who on his own power managed to be installed as chief of Awiano was rejected by the late Omanhene Kantamanto Amonoo XI.
He added that, the late Kantamanto Amonoo XI set up a committee to investigate the matter and the committee’s report is what the traditional council will act upon.
Kantamanto Amonoo XII also said, the litigation was there be he was enstooled as chief of Anomabo so he not personal issues against him Mr Francis Ebo Mensah but it is the decision of the traditional council.
The registrar of the Traditional Council, Mr Kosiy Oduro on his part read to the traditional council the history and background of what the committee recommended to the council.
