Ballot tampering: EC removes two officers from post

The Electoral commission says it has identified and removed suspected officers engaged in the alleged tampering of presidential ballot papers from post.

According to reports, isolated cases of of presidential ballot papers were tempered with in Awutu Senya and Bawku Central constituencies.

Reacting to the issue in a statement, the EC stated that , working with the police, they have identified and removed the suspected offices from post pending further investigations.

The EC reiterated that the presidential ballot paper for the 2020 general election has twelve candidates and that for a correctly thumb printed ballot paper to be considered valid and counted, all candidates must be on the ballot paper.

“ The commission entreats all its staff and field officials to let the truth guide them and integrity, preserve them as they continue with this important exercise. We also urge political and party and candidates agents and the general public to be vigilant to ensure a free, fair,credible and transparent general elections”, the statement said.
