The Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiama, has paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of the Dormaa Traditional Area, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, as part of the central bank’s stakeholder engagement tour in the Bono Region.
The visit, which took place on Thursday, August 6, 2026, saw the Governor accompanied by the First Deputy Governor, Dr. Zakari Mumuni, members of the Bank’s Board of Directors, senior management, and staff of the Sunyani Regional Office.
According to the Bank of Ghana, the engagement with the traditional ruler was peaceful and successful, with the size of the convoy reflecting the large delegation that participated in the visit.
The central bank explained that the courtesy call forms part of its nationwide stakeholder engagement programme in regions where it has operational offices.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening relationships with key stakeholders, including traditional authorities, while expressing appreciation for their continued support of the Bank’s work.
The Bank noted that engaging traditional leaders is an important aspect of its efforts to foster collaboration and promote mutual understanding on issues relating to economic development and financial stability.
The visit underscores the Bank of Ghana’s commitment to maintaining close ties with local communities and traditional institutions as it continues to carry out its mandate of ensuring monetary and financial system stability across the country.
Dr. Asiama and his delegation are expected to continue similar engagements with stakeholders in other regions as part of the Bank’s ongoing outreach programme.
