Census: Be patient with our residents- Okoe Vanderpuije to Enumerators

The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South, Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije, has urged Enumerators to have patient for the public as they go out to count them.

He encouraged them to work with the public so that they will achieve their objective after the exercise.
Okoe Vanderpuije gave the advice in Accra when the census night was held.

The Census night was held on Sunday, June 27, 2021 to mark the official start of the 2021 Population and Housing Census.

Persons who were targeted on the night were long distance travelers, those in hospitals, persons traveled to Ghana from abroad and were lodging at guest houses and hotels.

In the Korle Klottey Municipality of the Greater Accra Region for instance, there was a float through the major streets to create awareness on the exercise.

Same colourful event was held at different places across the country.

Speaking at the event, Okoe Vanderpuije said, “We appreciate each one of you. We are counting on you for this exercise, I know you have been given the necessary training, you have been equipped very well and you are ready for the task, I want to urge you to please be patient with our residents. let us work with them, and let us get our objectives achieved.”

For his part, a Government Statistician, Samual Kobina Annim urged those who are not counted by 8th July 2021 to call the toll free number of the Ghana Statistical Service, 0800426426 to report to them.
